Review on Magnus VT 4000 Professional Performance Tripod by Adrian Smart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for my needs

Love it! A good tall tripod with a good ball head for leveling and a very strong and smooth pan/tilt head. I found it in an online review of cheap video decks and they were absolutely certain they were good quality at a reasonable price. It's tall (with its legs outstretched it puts the camera at my eye level. I'm 5'11") and appears to be quite sturdy. Leveling the head is very easy with the ball joint mechanism and built-in spirit level. The head itself can be leveled pan and tilt very easily and has a long handle that can be easily mounted on the left or right side with a simple screw attachment. The angle of the handle is also adjustable with a gear adjustment mechanism so it is very strong when engaged. The quick release plate is very handy. It can also be slid back and forth to better balance the camera on the tripod and then pops out all the way once the lock/unlock button is pressed. I've never used fancier/better tripods, can So don't compare, but I can say that this one suits my needs when shooting videos with a DSLR works really well. The tilt mechanism is spring loaded and has some resistance when tilted. ed. it tends to rebound and rise back up to the level set at low spring tension. all natural with the fluidity of a fluid effect. The spring tension when tilting back/up is also present, but much less pronounced. Comes with a nice soft carrying case.
