Totally Dangerous – Travel Car Accessories

This dog car seat is dangerous! I always use a car seat for my 6 pound Pomeranian service dog (diabetes alert dog) who accompanies me everywhere. My original car seat has a soft metal rim that has always bothered me. I'm still afraid that in an accident it would detach from the upholstery and bite my dog, so I bought it. There is no such thing as a metal hazard, but not every hazard involves metal. Because of the soft material and design, it should stay on the seat, about 1/2 foot lower than its other seat, due to its strong bottom and padded metal frame. With this seat, my dog can't see out the window, which he loves! So he gets off that seat and stands up, leaning against the dashboard. The leash attached to his seat belts is way too long, and despite being as short as possible, his face still hits the dashboard when he comes to a quick stop. He got out of the car seat where he was securely held and he was happily able to see out the window and there was no way to get into the dashboard in an accident. I removed his original car seat but have already pulled this new one out of my car and will be reinstalling the original. I was trying to protect my dog and this seat did nothing for his safety - it just turned a safe ride into a potential death in my opinion.
