Review on Meguiars G10307 ScratchX 2 0 Scratch by Tyler Parker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

AMAZING PRODUCT but use common sense.

I gave these 5 stars because I use a lot of meguiars products and they usually always impress. Just like this. First, anyone can use it whether you are an amateur or a professional. Still you need to do a test, the size of the scratch doesn't matter, but if you feel a bump or lip when you run your finger over it then do it. Most likely the scratch was left on the clear coat and you will not get the results you expected. I have used this on 3 scratches, 2 small scratches on my trunk and 1 from someone hitting my car with a stop sign. I used clean microfiber and a very small amount. It's better to start with small amounts. Put a lot of effort into it because it has microabrasives in it, and if you're doing it by hand you're literally trying to mix the paint. If you have a great buffing machine this will be a lot easier, but I did it by hand and ended up with two trunk scratches. The one on the side door came out, except for the deepest part of it. It lightens it up, but if it gets too deep into the color it won't come out and you shouldn't expect it. For $9 you can't beat the fact that you can remove light to medium scratches and lighten deeper ones. Even if you lighten a scratch, it will lighten it enough that you can't see it unless you know it's there and aren't really looking for it. This ONLY applies to deeper scratches. But my dealer wanted to charge $800 for side door scratch removal because that includes painting and mixing and consider it's 2 scratches and they wanted $800 so for $9 you can't expect perfection but it's damn close. If you want perfection, it is better to go to body shops and paint shops.
