It's big enough to fit a large salad (I don't even fill it halfway), a sandwich or leftovers on the bottom shelf; The dressing jar is sealed and holds more than enough dressings, the dividers work really well (I put the ranch on one side and nothing spilled), and the lid seals everything really well. I love that I can use it with or without the top sections (so if I just want regular utensils with no top shelf or if I don't need a divider or anything) it still closes well and is very easy to use.
