Good protection for vanity units, but small and expensive

These plastic mats are sturdy, strong and thick. However, the size selection is extremely limited and the inclination makes it difficult to find the right size. Read other size reviews before you buy. I bought them for several bathrooms, a kitchen and a closet to protect new paint and wood cabinets. However, I had to cut out most of it to fit. In the kitchen, someone working under the sink accidentally dislodged the new waste chute and when the sink was in use, water ran all over the place. The rug was cut to only fit in the front to allow the closet doors to close but water got under the rug so it didn't protect the closet it actually kept the water off the painted closet and had to be repainted although that Problem in it was found a couple of hours. So if you need to trim it, it doesn't protect against water, but it does protect against scuffs, scratches and stains. I think a flexible rubber mat would be better and easier to install. That's a lot of money for a plastic mat.
