Really hot enough to melt borosilicate with mapp. Very impressive. I contacted customer service about a problem. The burner head itself gets very hot, including the valve. The heat is high enough to transport a can of fuel. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious, but I'll see what the company says. Otherwise, assuming it doesn't explode in my face, I'm very happy. Out performs my bernzomatic TS8000
