Review on Purina Veterinary Fortiflora Nutritional Supplement by Denis Panga

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Initially gave the cat some relief although she was dying anyway

I had a very ill Persian cat named Hayley which out of sheer desperation I bought Fortiflora for along with some other supplements. She died last winter at the age of 12. This is after 18 months of constant emergency vet visits, regular vet visits, thousands of dollars spent on testing and a second opinion. We heard she had everything from kitty IBS, food allergies, pancreatitis, stomatitis, gastroenteritis from new cat food etc. Turns out the last we heard was cancer. She hasn't eaten anything by herself in over three months. I mixed her food so I could syringe feed her later, but nothing helped. She just got too sick. I'm off course. Vets gave her a prescription probiotic at some point, about three months before she died. She vomited and had severe diarrhea. It seemed to help, but the prescription was short-lived. I researched on the internet. On the IBS and pancreatitis blogs (If your cat is sick, pet owners are a great resource. Check out their blogs) FortiFlora kept popping up. In fact, my vet even sold it on his RX online store. It should have been safe. Hailey, my sick cat's poop was either very loose or clogged. There is none between them. I tried it. We didn't even live a month before she died. But it seemed to bring her some relief. The big benefit was that if you have a cat with no appetite, this stuff is like cat crack. Mix it up with some soft lining and she'll be attractive again, at least for a while. I seem to remember reading that they like brewer's yeast. In short, I haven't had a bad experience with FortiFlora. I'm glad I tried. I would hate myself if I didn't try everything that is safe. That fits the bill. I hope your pet will feel some relief!
