This display works well enough if you're willing to work at a non-native resolution on your Raspberry Pi. The built-in scaler accepts inputs up to 1920 x 1080, which looks good but is the wrong aspect ratio. However, panel timings don't work for the Raspberry Pi at native 1024 x 600, meaning you always end up with a little less. blurred text. If you update config.txt to display 1024x600, you just get a blank screen. The UCTRONICS instructions and script (available to download from GitHub) simply sets the resolution to 1024x768, which is nowhere near the correct aspect ratio, and you end up with a very poorly stretched image. Save yourself the hassle and buy the Waveshare version of this screen. I did just that and the native 1024x600 worked on first boot.
