Review on πŸ“€ Tjernlund LT4 Lint Trap for Dryer Booster Fans with DEDPV Optimization by Nicolai Goler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Required with additional fan, this is sufficient

The auxiliary dryer fan I installed required an additional lint filter and was recommended to me by the company that sold the auxiliary fan to me. Its "pluses" are a metal structure, a viewing window and fairly simple installation. The "cons" are that pulling the screen out and putting it back in makes me nervous because the construction is so flimsy it looks like it will bend the screen or break the screen off the door. In addition, the lint collects on both sides of the screen at the edge, so the lint definitely goes through the screen. I'm not too concerned about that as it's actually the second extra lint filter we have on this run - there's one in the house that catches most of the lint that gets through the dryer's built-in lint filter. If Tjernlund had been cheaper (maybe $30) I would have thought it was a good price, but for $60 it's not that much.

Pros
  • Reduces possible accumulation of fluff in the duct or fan
Cons
  • There are other interesting possibilities.
