It worked great right out of the box. No drivers required. The kit included a cable with USC-C and USB 3.0 connectors. I've tried both options on my iMac and absolutely no problems. I also like the style of tray loading versus slot loading. Slot loading is a great idea until something goes wrong with the CD/DVD drive or there is a physical problem with the disc that prevents the disc from ejecting. No problem with the tray loading style. I haven't tried the SD/TF card reading function yet. Assuming this works, this is a huge plus for me as I don't have a dedicated card reader and my desktop iMac doesn't have that capability.
