Review on πŸ”‘ GM Genuine Parts D1462G Ignition Lock Housing: Ensuring Reliable Ignition for Your Vehicle by Erik Snyder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked! (In the end)

2010 Colorado. When I accidentally left the door open when attempting to start, I was blocked for 10 minutes. Then last week it happened with the door closed but the window open (could it be a coincidence?). After a determined search I found this and decided it was worth the risk. I only swapped the switch, not the whole case. I went through the process of retraining, but it didn't work. I searched and found similar instructions but nothing good. Postponed a few days. Today I tried again and it started (improvement) but it didn't start (it felt like it was blocking the fuel supply which had never happened before). After trying the procedure a few more times, she finally left, thank goodness! I was ready to take more drastic action. I programmed other keys (turn them off after boot, change the key within 10 seconds and boot. Wait for the lock indicator to go off before turning them off). Now it runs every time (so far) and I can also let it run with the door open! Too bad I have a useless case to throw away, it would be nice if the switch was sold separately. Moral: Don't give up right away when you have one of those persistent unlearners. Also make sure your battery is well charged. I ended up having to connect a charger.

Pros

Cons
