It was a cold and cloudy winter night. The seasonal depression snuggled in between my normal depression and the quarantine depression, like three perfect peas in the pod of my mind. There was nothing I wanted more than the weight of a grown man right on top of me, pressing my body against him in one quick deflation; It acts like a lid on a memory foam box that I put down in the hope of finally resting in peace. Panic ensued when petitions for the reported weight were unsuccessful. Apparently asking men to transfer their entire body weight in a non-sensual way was a confusing and awkward request. Unfortunately, contrary to popular belief, it seemed that chivalry had died after all. I have prepared my heart and mind that maybe the only weight that will crush me is a weight that will never be enough. In grim acceptance of my fate, I couldn't focus on the world around me. The holiday season came faster than I was ready. The increased pressure from the show of holiday cheer was so much the pressure I wanted so badly to put on my chest, clouding my head in such a melancholy absent-mindedness that I completely forgot the act of gift-giving in honor of the season. The distraction was aided by the surprise of receiving a gift from a gentleman I had recently met. This was particularly surprising given the non-negotiable agreement we had previously that we would not give each other gifts, a mistake I was reluctant to condone. Despite my protests, I reluctantly accepted the gift and found it to be a large, pink, fluffy blanket that weighed as much as a sack of bricks. At first it was a disturbing realization that challenged my previous experience with blankets. Fascinated, however, I wrapped myself in it and found that it is actually quite comfortable. Versatile in its soothing properties, it's also simple... very soft. So yes, 5 stars, 10/10 would definitely recommend this product. Good blanket. Not exactly the same as having someone press down on you with their weight, but it's definitely a great alternative.
