This is an absolutely superb hard drive docking station. I have used hard drive docking stations for years and this is by far the best device I have ever used. Before purchasing this Startech docking station, I used Vantec Nexstar products with no problems. However, my recent purchase of an updated product from this company resulted in a very unpleasant experience. I've had occasional USB 3.0 disconnects with a competitor and general unreliability in general. I'm happy to report that I've had no problems with the Startech USB 3.0 eSata Hard Drive Dock and everything works great. Also, there is no limit to the size of drives you want to use with this device. I am currently using a Seagate 8TB NAS drive with my dock and have had no problems. Also, I can't stress enough how useful the included fan is to keep your drives cool while in use. The 8TB drives I use with the docking station got very hot when used with competing products. I'm absolutely amazed at how effective the Startech docking station is at cooling my hard drive, my drive no longer feels hot it's the complete opposite and now I can touch my hard drive at any time without fear of burning myself. I've been in the technology and computing industries for over 20 years and this is by far the best hard drive dock I've ever used. If you are looking for a hard drive docking station, this is definitely the one for you. It's a little more expensive than competing products but the old adage you get what you pay for is never truer than in this case, trust me this dock is worth every penny!
