Review on Microphone BOYA Broadcast Quality Windscreen Camcorders by Nick Shirodkar

I gave 4 stars because of the price of this mic. When I first received it I was disappointed with the quality and considered returning it. I had my eye on a Sennheiser condenser mic but decided to go with a cheaper mic during this pandemic. The first day I used it, my shots kept getting static. NO BACKGROUND NOISE, just static. So I knew there was interference somewhere or that the mic was just cheap. I decided to bypass the included XLR to 3.5mm cable and plug it directly into my field recorder's XLR input. BOOM. MUCH BETTER. The included cable is annoying and doesn't deliver the best possible recording. Do yourself a favor and buy a higher quality cable, preferably an XLR-XLR cable. Now this microphone is really useful and looking forward to future video projects. Also using a battery to power the mic is not ideal, if you have access to 48v phantom power use that instead. If not, an AA battery will do, but you'll likely get more unwanted noise in your recording.
