Review on πŸ”₯ Magenta Supreme Welding Mini-Droplet by Marcus Cano

Neat product but much darker than stated in the description.

This is a good product but depending on how tight you are I'm not sure it's worth $100. To put this in perspective, I am a contract welder in the piping and fabrication trades and am currently doing a lot of work that requires a lot of FCAW structural welding. I am currently working about 7 hours of arc time a day so I started looking for a product that would take the pressure off my eyes. Welding at around 28-30 volts and 300-450 WFS produces around 180-280 amps (which is pretty bright all day). 12 at FCAW. When I combine this plug in weld lens with a gold tone of 10 it gives a gold tone of about 13. Some people say it adds a half tint to your filter lens but I'll tell you it's at least 2 shades darker. Make sure you have a sharp-tipped sander, or prepare to do lots of sawdust on the fold-out front to insert the insert lens. I had to open mine up to about 1/4 inch to get my gold lens (glass) insert lenses and 2 clear plastic lenses along with a side flip front. The puddle is definitely easier on the eyes, but that's mainly because it's about 2.5 shades darker. This gives you a clearer view of the puddle with less stress compared to shade 12 or 13. So it's a good product but be aware that if you want really sharp vision and you need to lower it to 9 or around less stress want that too.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
