Pretty easy to use. If you lubricate the kingpin, the thing gets dirty. But that's not the castle's fault. Keep a tote bag to store it. I don't know how bad it is but I was in a situation recently where I was able to make my day easier by leaving my dump truck somewhere that I could get to the hotel. I had this lock on my trailer and the 3 next to mine didn't have locks so it was about as strong as I need it I think. I slept better as a result. I'm glad I took it with me.
