The only thing that bothered me after reading the previous reviews was that the thin legs of the bed pierced the plastic plugs over time. As a preventive measure I've fitted 2" steel washers" in the caps to distribute the weight. Something like this will do, but for now the caps should be bulletproof. Bed stability over these 7" x 7" bases is much better than my old 4.5" x 4.5" wood risers. In terms of assembly time, yes it will take some time hand tightening 16 hex head screws to secure the bases. After installing 1 by hand, I took a drill and a 5/32" hex wrench. I worked on the other 15 a little and quickly. Overall I'm happy with this product and while I'm happy to make improvements at home, the manufacturer would have been better off to reinforce the cap.
