. You know how important a straw can be when you need to hold a glass or cup with both hands and STILL worry about spilling your drink or looking like an idiot (I shake from lifelong essential tremors, which is far more common) , as I thought ). These straws are a godsend. Sturdy, just the right length and diameter. I use them for cold drinks and hot morning tea or coffee. I compared other brands and sizes and I liked them the best. I understand the concerns about overuse and recycling of plastic, but the local recycler complains about falling through their equipment and tells us not to. I try to compensate by stuffing them in large plastic soda bottles or half gallon milk cartons, but who knows if that will work. At some point I will switch to plastic or metal reusable straws, but I really like them.
