I have a rough, curly beard and this product is great at softening it. I say help because I believe there is no product in the world that can really soften my barbet nest. My beard has become very soft while the product is in. As soon as I wash it off, my beard gets rough and rough again. It stays in your beard for hours as advertised. As for the scent, I've tried Stagecoach and Gold so far. The stagecoach has a strong odor that lasted for several hours. Too strong for me but the smell is subjective. Gold is a much softer scent that doesn't last long, but it's perfect for me because it still helps soften your beard.
