This broom gets a pass, but it may not work for some. I will mainly use it for sweeping wooden stairs. It has hard bristles and a narrow width to get into small places. For a regular floor brush, the sweeping brush isn't wide enough to be really effective. The rod is 10 1/4" wide and the bristles are 4 1/4" long from base to tip. This compares to the 12-13 inch width and 5 inch depth of a comparable O-cedar broom, which is something of the gold standard. The handle is made of steel, consists of 4 parts that need to be fixed with screws. This is fine in and of itself, but makes the tool quite heavy, especially in relation to the small bristle head. In the end I glued the sections together with gorilla glue to prevent loosening. If you're looking for a versatile floor sweeper, the O-Cedar range is for you. So on with reservations.
