I have replaced the main camera and added a new camera to my 12 camera setup running Blue Iris NVR software on a large Dell server and multiple corners/doors of multiple buildings on my property be monitored. All of these old cameras are/were Dlink 720p bullet cameras that are 6-8 years old and then I paid $300 each for them. I wanted to upgrade to much higher resolution cameras to be able to recognize faces, read license plates remotely, and see other details that weren't possible with older 720p cameras. -cam, another RLC-420-5MP dome model that seems to have the same guts in a different package. Very easy to install. I had already hardwired PoE Ethernet to these cameras (and dozens of others), so it was literally "plug and play". I changed the IP from DHCP to a hardcoded IP so my Blue Iris DVR software knows where to find it. Photo. The porch shots were taken with the dome camera, the driveway/courtyard shots with the bullet camera. I can't speak to any software features as I'm using advanced third-party NVR software, but the video quality is top-notch, easily delivering 25fps at full 2560x1920 resolution, with plenty of max bitrate options. The speed can reach 8192kbps, I set it to 6144kbps, the video is smooth and the quality is crystal clear. I'm replacing the other 12 with these and maybe adding a few extra cameras, but early results show these are amazing cameras at all costs, especially those under $100 a piece. I've added (and tagged) a photo from the same angle, using an old Dlink 720p camera for comparison. You can see what a big improvement that is.
