Type of review

I doubt it is a true 5MP sensor, since the camera cannot see any details even from such a small distance (see photo). I had high hopes, but they soon collapsed. I take another camera to make sure it's not a lemon as it seems blurry in the middle. Lenses do not fog up, set to maximum quality (5MP - Clear) with maximum bandwidth allowed. I don't know if I'm expecting unreasonable results, but my Nest 1080 doorbell delivers a much better picture quality. Will go back and look for something else if

Unusable sound and rejection support issue

For those who don't use a microphone this is a great camera, 5 stars for 5MP video and a well thought out external Micro SD card slot. I would give 4 stars overall IF ONLY the sound was as good as the 4MP model. Since the audio is as bad as others have reported, and because customer service doesn't spot bad audio, I can't use the better 5MP version. The sound is intermittent, distorted and weak. The volume should be set to MAX. The 5-megapixel audio version is unusable because squelch was added

high quality alignment ball

I have 7 IP cameras and 5 built in cameras many of which have had to be replaced in the last 5 years. So I owned several. I wanted POE and 5MP, so I went for the RLC-410-5MP. The first thing that struck me was the ease of camera alignment and the single adjustment screw, the best I've seen. The installation with the Blue Iris DVR software took a few minutes. I love this camera so much I felt it needed a review. Sometimes I read reviews for fun and wonder what people think. Apparently a lot of…

Stop! Don't waste money!

I bought this camera based on the glowing recommendations on YouTube and Revain. Your experience is nowhere near mine. Cons: This camera has zero stars. The image is broken and smudged. I tried VLC, Zoneminder and Quicktime. They smudge and pixelate even on still images. There are many posts on the Zoneminder forum about smearing and poor image quality. It doesn't look like anyone has come up with a solution to this problem other than a nearby trash can. Pros: Low cost, only $50 for a 5…

Great camera for the price

Great little camera. There are still things I'm dreaming up, but after a full 24 hours of work, I like it. I originally bought it to keep a close eye on my mailbox after someone knocked it off its stand, but I learned of the $55 camera's limitations. My mailbox is just too far away, during the day the camera detects people walking down the street at maximum sensitivity. But at night, even at maximum motion sensitivity on the street, walking on the street doesn't trigger the MD, unlike all the…

Outstanding image quality. The easiest installation ever!

I have replaced the main camera and added a new camera to my 12 camera setup running Blue Iris NVR software on a large Dell server and multiple corners/doors of multiple buildings on my property be monitored. All of these old cameras are/were Dlink 720p bullet cameras that are 6-8 years old and then I paid $300 each for them. I wanted to upgrade to much higher resolution cameras to be able to recognize faces, read license plates remotely, and see other details that weren't possible with older…

Great camera for the price - better than expected!

I have a home setup with various cameras from different brands including WansView, Foscam and now this Reolink. I use NetCam Studio on my home server and have a license for 16 cameras on it. I had to replace my open Foscam 8905W which finally stopped responding after 3 full years of Michigan weather. I really liked the 8905W because it had excellent night vision and could easily see objects about 100 feet away from my backyard home. When I first started looking for a replacement for this…

Good cheap camera. Happy with it. Good day quality. Acceptable night time.

Support update. Apparently the problem is not due to a defective camera. Blue Iris works great with this camera when "reolink RLC-410" is selected. But this camera was configured as generic ONVIF in Blue Iris. In this mode, decoding errors result in video artifacts. When I changed the camera type from Universal to Reolink, the symptom no longer appeared. Thank you for the good email support from the provider. For Blue Iris users, choose MPG4 instead of MPG5 for Blue Iris compatibility and…
