After receiving the package, everything was assembled according to the instructions. The router worked fine, only turned itself off a couple of times when the power was turned off. After a power outage, I couldn't connect the router to the modem. (The power light didn't turn green, it stayed amber.) After numerous reboots and waiting, I called NETGEAR tech support. I registered the router when I received it, so tech support had it in stock. I've been told the free tech support only works for 90 days and I have just over 90 days. They told me I can buy 1 year support and it costs $149.95. I explained to the technician that I only paid $99.99 for the router and that it comes with one year of support and includes all the electronics in my house. I told him I will not pay and that I want to return the broken router for a replacement. He then informed me that I had to contact technical support to resolve an issue with the router before I could receive an RMA and that he could not issue an RMA until I went through his checklist. and that I had to buy support for it. So I ended the call and ordered a router from Charter (my cable provider). Plug and play, 24/7 support, $5/month. Don't buy anything from Netgear!
