Review on 💾 WD 2TB Network NAS 3.5-Inch WDBMMA0020HNC-NRSN by John Wei

I bought this WDC hard drive in 7/2016. The product received has a manufacturing date of 6/2014. It should have a 3 year guarantee. When registering with the WDC, it says that there is about 1 year of warranty left. When I contacted WDC they said the warranty was based on the date of manufacture not the date of purchase. I bought this item specifically because of its 3 year warranty. It's impossible to determine the date of manufacture without opening the box and looking at the disc. This unit also shipped with an older NASware 2.0 firmware instead of the latest 3.0. Since WDC does not offer warranty period changes, they will be returned to Revain. This is such a problem. Instead I went to buy fries, the offer is reduced by 20%. Lesson Learned: Be very careful when buying warranty-sensitive items online.
