Already assembled. It's easy to save. It's perfect for a notebook or notes. Both will fit if they are relatively small. I set down my drink (it's dangerous to keep next to a computer), a mug with handles, and my laptop, then place my laptop on my lap to take notes. It has many different settings and they all work well. Best if you use it as a lap table or bar table. Don't just lift the computer off the table to help your neck. It would be too high for that if you don't have a high chair. I dump mine on the table and everything is fine. The main use is to take notes on the sofa/bed. It's pretty durable. If you hit the legs, they'll close with relative ease, so be careful. It's beautiful and perfect for what I wanted it for! The game is changing for sure.
