I have used this adapter with my Nikon 90 on various microscopes. Given the low cost, I couldn't be happier with the performance. Of course there is some chromatic aberration and the image is not as clear as the best ($$$) glass, but for the price it works very well and is very comfortable. Here are a few tips to get the best results with the D90: 1) Focus through the camera using "Lv" mode. The plane of focus is not exactly the same as the microscope lens, so you need to focus it first with the microscope and then insert the camera (stereoscopes allow you to use the lens and camera at the same time). Don't use the camera's viewfinder, use Lv mode and focus with the camera's LCD instead. You can use the zoom on the camera (bottom right button on the back of the D90) as needed to get the focus right. This will ensure proper focus on the camera's thermal imager. 2) Use IR shutter (or shutter timer). Personally, I can't shoot anything without camera shake blur (too much coffee?), and microscope shots are no different for me. Use an IR shutter (the best under $20 D90 accessory I've bought) to cut off any communication between the hand and the microscope. For further improvement, turn off the Lv mode directly after focusing BEFORE taking the picture. This reduces DSLR mirror movement, further reducing blur caused by vibration. 3) Apparently metering and automatic exposure do not work with this accessory. Use full manual mode and experiment with shutter speed, the only exposure control available on the camera. Changing the illumination in the microscope is also helpful, but generally the best results are obtained with as high an illumination as possible and a fast shutter speed (fast shutter speed). Have fun and share your tips! Eric
