We bought this pack to replace three of our existing V-Tech phones and were hoping to be able to just use the phones as we already have our chargers. However, unlike phones that you can buy separately, they are already paired with the control base they come with. We ended up having to throw away and replace our old control base with this one and sync our old phones to the new base as we couldn't sync the new phones to the old base (although the instructions say they would if they did 't.) It wasn't a big deal, but just a little more frustrating than if we just bought replacement phones separately. We've had the original system for almost ten years and it still works well. We only have to swap out 2-3 phones every 3-5 years, which is worth it to me. We haven't had good experiences with the easy battery swap, so when it started acting strange we just threw the phone away and ordered replacements from Revain as they are relatively cheap.
