Review on Titanium Backpacking Cooking Camping Cookware by Jose Cruz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great if you make a few changes

I really like this set. Titanium so it's very light and durable which will probably outlive me, it all fits nicely in a very compact package and works very well. A little background for my use case: I used to carry a USGI mug with a bottle on my belt and cook everything in that mug. It's larger than the mug in this set, and I can get a full meal of my signature dehydrated macaroni and cheese flour. Using this kitchen set has made me reconsider a few things, namely the type and amount of groceries I carry with me. For freeze dried meals in a bag, this kit allows me to heat enough water to eat out of the bag without causing any damage or mess. I will not starve. On the plus side, the entire cook set weighs less than my single USGI mug, so it suits me. Then again, I'm not a fan of alcohol-based heating. Instead, I switched to camping stove mode with JetFuel, and my main take here is to leave the spirit stove and bottle at home. This makes the weight savings a little more extreme, and I don't think performance suffers in the slightest. Also, I don't carry a plastic bottle of alcohol fuel in my backpack. With this kit, the heat is dissipated fairly well, so it takes very little time to boil water. I've found that I don't need silicone oven mitts as the handles on the mugs are thin enough to cool down fairly quickly after heating if I leave them pulled out while the mug is on fire. too light for me so I disassembled the handle and bent it out a little to increase the tension on the fork body. It seemed to work pretty well and I had no problems with the food. This is a well designed set and I love it!
