Review on 🐠 Brightwell Aquatics NeoMarine: The Ultimate Marine Salt Blend for Reef Aquariums by Haley Johnson

I liked this salt from the BRS reviews but the box I received was very low in magnesium. I ordered a box of 150 liters. The first 22 gallon batch I mixed at 35 ppt came out at 400 Ca, 7.9 dKH, 1050 Mg. I used it to mix 50/50 with IO. I had a few old magnesium supplements that had proven useful. Currently, about 4 1/4 cups IO, 4 1/4 NeoMarine, 600 ml BRS Mg, 40 ml Kent Mg, 4 grams Loudwolf Sodium Bisulfate are mixed to make 22 gallons of 35 ppt seawater with dKH 8.1, Ca 440, Mg 1230 to manufacture. , I went through a box of NeoMarine and the measurements were consistent. So the salt mix I received is very low Mg as opposed to the box which delaminates (elements don't mix well in the box). Overall, the salt didn't kill anything, hence the 3 stars. But this salt does not meet my desire to mix batches and use without testing and tweaking. This offers no advantage over IO in my experience. I may order another box in a few months and update this review as every business goes through difficult times and this order may have been a mistake. scent note. I've mixed thousands of batches (of many brands) of saltwater since 1983 and never thought I'd notice the smell or care. However, at least this NeoMarine box is worth noting. It's not a bad smell, I would describe it as close to the "fresh" smell of kitty litter or the "fresh" smell of some kitchen trash bags. It's strong and noticeable, not exactly overwhelming. Very strange.
