I love this stuff and recommend it to everyone. No longer.

This has been my route to salt for many years. But towards the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 I noticed very bad games. I tried and tried more boxes but ended up with 5 boxes of 150g with horrendous numbers. About 6dh, 9000mag and 330 calcium. It got to the point where after 24 hours of mixing I had to add magnesium, then bicarbonate and calcium to keep it from sticking together. After going through 2 bags of mages, that's enough. I had similar issues with Fritz Blue, but it wasn't that bad.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Best reef salt suitable for aquarium water treatment

This is a great article, it gives detailed instructions on how to mix to a specific gravity of 1.025g/cm3. What makes this salt good is the fact that it keeps the micronutrient levels right at the levels found in the Earth's oceans. So by changing your water regularly, you don't need to add additional supplements like calcium and magnesium, making this salt an excellent choice for nano aquariums. in my opinion. UPDATE - August 20th 2019 I recently ordered a bucket of this salt from Amazon and…

The best reef salt. - Aquarium water treatment

Excellent salt for our aquariums. We have 3 salt water. We switched from Instant Ocean to Brightwell. We prefer it much better. The only complaint would be that the salt only comes in a plain bucket and not in bags or anything. In addition, it was delivered on time and was not damaged, dissolves well. This bucket is SUPER heavy so be aware. Lol *Edit - I've seen other people in reviews and questions here saying the salt smells or the salt burns them. Rzhunimagu! Well, it makes a chemical…

I bought this salt when mine ran out, now it has become my only salt.

Great salt. Honestly I thought it wasn't on the level of the Tropic Marin Pro Reef. I've been using this salt for almost a year and haven't seen anything amazing, I've actually seen my LPS nose dive. At 400 gallons of 90% SPS, I didn't lose a ton of sleepers from losing the Bauer cans and scans, but I also didn't see the good coloring you'd expect from a $120 salt. One day I decided to try something else to no avail and heard good reviews about brghtwell Neo Marine, I used Amino and there…

I would not recommend this salt

I liked this salt from the BRS reviews but the box I received was very low in magnesium. I ordered a box of 150 liters. The first 22 gallon batch I mixed at 35 ppt came out at 400 Ca, 7.9 dKH, 1050 Mg. I used it to mix 50/50 with IO. I had a few old magnesium supplements that had proven useful. Currently, about 4 1/4 cups IO, 4 1/4 NeoMarine, 600 ml BRS Mg, 40 ml Kent Mg, 4 grams Loudwolf Sodium Bisulfate are mixed to make 22 gallons of 35 ppt seawater with dKH 8.1, Ca 440, Mg 1230 to…
