The website claims that the sensor supplied is a 4 wire sensor that fits my 1989 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter engine. My Ranger is equipped with a 3-wire probe that is grounded through the sensor housing. I assumed that the 4-wire sensor would still work because the connector geometry fits, although there is one wire less on the vehicle connector. This is not the case, I received the code once the system had warmed up enough to enter closed loop mode. I was able to get it to work by cutting the gray ground wire on the side of the probe and grounding it directly. So if you're in the same location as me this will work, but I suggest getting the correct O2 sensor first.
