Great product but you may need to reuse your old timer base seal

The product was great right away until we realized the boat speed was nowhere near what it was capable of. We note that in the second test, the rev range went beyond 2000-3000 rpm. We pulled the lid off and found that the timer's base was solid and once we lubricated it it didn't matter. I took the old pad off the timer base then installed the new one and now it works like a dream.
