It changed my life. I did everything the old fashioned way, doing everything by hand during isolation from the pandemic. Hand tools only, no power tools. Believe me, it was a fun experiment, but now I have a lot less time since I'm back at work. So to keep cutting wood, I have an electric or battery powered tool. Wow this makes things a lot easier, maybe not that much fun but I can certainly get more things done in the same amount of time. This is an example, I used these little bamboo nails to hold things together like dowels, only smaller and thinner. They were fun to make and I bloodied my hands with a hand planer to make a small dot on one end. I inevitably got tired and cut my hands, which for me was just part of the process. Then take my whisk style hand drill and make that hole and then hammer it in with a hammer. The whole process can take 10 minutes for a few bamboo nails. So not very time efficient. Now comes this Makita Battery Powered Nail Gun, literally a second and you're done. Of course it depends on the wood and sometimes the pin will fly out here and there, but so far most of my nails have just melted into the wood and held a joint or two pieces of wood together. The gun makes it so quick and efficient. So far Makita is great. I only have a couple of 1.2Ah batteries that came with my Makita screwdriver and impact wrench, but I haven't had to charge the batteries yet. I just nailed everything, even just for fun. Pins waste here and there.
