I'm one of those crazy 'audiophiles'- the kind who rebuilt one of those huge receivers from the 1970's, because they sound like nothing else! But. they also don't have a ton of audio inputs, for today's multitudes of devices. Enter this 6-way audio switch by Dingsun. With six inputs, and a level/volume control, this switch box is just what the doctor ordered. The switch box, itself, is nicely made of metal. and has a decent heft to it. The rotary switch features solid click-stops, for each position. The volume/level knob has a smooth sweep, with just the slightest resistance- imbuing a sense of confidence that your setting won't drift. Most impressive, the connector board (on the back) features a screw, for every two pairs of "ins" and "outs"- again inspiring confidence in the quality of this switch. As for audio quality through the switch, I have detected no distortion, or coloration of sound, no channel dropouts, and switches between inputs are quiet- no pops, or crackles. The switch is completely passive, so no power is needed. One thing to note, a single pair of RCA cables is included with the switch- presumably to connect the switch to your amp- but while the switch is well-built, the included cable pair is junk. That's OK, though. I wasn't expecting cables anyway.
