My wife and I chose this to watch movies outdoors with the kids and were impressed with how good it is for the price. The image is crisp and much better than I would have expected from a projector that costs a fraction of other projectors I've used in the past. It benefits from a dedicated projection screen and a very dark environment, but we also projected onto a white wall and this was done with some ambient light and we could see the screen very well. It's very easy to set up (my 14 year old set it up in about 5 minutes). The fan is also quieter than I expected. Less good: The dual speakers are very thin and don't generate much volume. You also have to contend with some fan noise and don't get the volume you need for larger rooms or outdoors. It has an audio output and I highly recommend connecting it to an external speaker. I don't expect much from projector speakers in general, so that's not necessarily a negative. It's just something to plan. Also, some projectors now have the ability to connect to other devices via Bluetooth or "cast" to them from other devices. It's not like this. You must plan to plug something into the HDMI port (or any of the others) for your source. We hooked up an older Roku that was idle and it worked great! Overall Verdict: It won't deliver an exceptional picture or give you many of the latest features, but it's a great solution if you're looking for something cheaper. if you sometimes want a REALLY big screen.
