Review on 🐠 Glosso Factory Freshwater Aquarium Dark Water Extracts - 8oz Pump Bottle by Jon Odom

Works just as well as any other Blackwater Extract

First, if you want your water to retain a darker color without adding this or any other blackwater extract on a weekly basis, use something like peat in the filter. or even flaked almonds, but something that leaches slowly and over time. But even in this case you will have to refresh and replace the leaves or peat as it is also running out of tannins. At the same time, all blackwater extracts will be clarified in a week or even a little earlier. That's why they say add weekly. I don't know what happens to tannins. Are they needed? Do they fall out of the water column? I really don't care. I just add a little weekly as I make forts or something. Nothing wrong with that. Serious. I'd say it doesn't lower the PH much in most water. I mean a little if you have mild to moderately soft water, but if it's hard, forget it. If it's very soft, such as discus cymbals, the PH drop may be a little more, but my cymbals are moderately soft, not very soft, and I CAN see a slight drop in PH. I run my aquariums from 6.2 to 6.4 PH. I have bred. Sure, my blue sheep hatched about a week after adding it, but guess what. It can also be pure poop stance. There's no way to prove it. The bottom line with any dark water is that you use it because you like adding some color and a possible but remote addition of humic acids etc., but none of these are miracle supplements. I knew a very, very famous discus breeder many years ago. Well known in the discus world. They don't use any additives, so bake with them for a while. The last time I use this one is because it's cheaper than the others and I can't tell any difference between this one and the other two top manufacturers. So use it and, as Heddy Lamar said, "Gentlemen, gentlemen, relax your sphincters."
