Yes, it may be a simple product, but this is hands down, one of the top five, highest quality items, I've EVER received from an Ebay purchase. and my wife has been getting between 5 and 15 Ebay packages delivered a WEEK!. for every bit of the last SEVEN YEARS! It definitely is THICK, DURABLE leather. It does distress easily, but I like that kind of thing. I don't really use it as a laptop case. I use it to protect expensive, high quality stationary, in which I carry in a messenger bag to and from my three different offices. Although sometimes I will put my laptop or tablet in it. The only caveat is that you should not expect to purchase this, as a laptop case, with the expectations of receiving a laptop case with the protection properties of a heavily padded laptop case or a hard plastic Pelican case. You SHOULD NOT purchase this, as a laptop case, thinking that you're going to get hard drop or heavy weight protection from it. It will provide superficial surface and scratch protection. If you do, that's really not really a fault of the product as it is of your expectations. You're not going to be able to drive an SUV over it and come out with an unscathed electronic device. After all, it is just leather. If you buy a base model Honda Civic you should be well aware that you're not getting Chevy Suburban and if you do, it's not the Honda's fault. IT'S YOURS! It's a single pocket bag. There's no mouse, charger, or accessories pocket. BUT THAT'S IN THE DESCRIPTION AND PRETTY OBVIOUS! Again.not a fault of the product. That being said, the leather is thick enough and durable enough to protect the corners and edges of expensive Rhodia and Clairefontaine notebooks and tablets. Basically, it maintains its overall rectangular shape without the corners of it crushing in too much. Again this is relative. It is still just leather. It's just not cheap, floppy, super thin, and incredibly flexible leather as compared to say a soft leather jacket.BOTTOM LINE: As advertised, for it's intended and advertised purpose, as well as the purpose for which I use it, IT GREATLY EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS AND IS WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE THE PRICE!
