Has 4096 byte sectors (contrary to what other reviewers said) and works fine. It generates heat when reading and writing, making it unsuitable for a small, fanless case (mine got up to 53 degrees Celsius, just 2 degrees below maximum operating temperature). The only NAS server I've used has lots of fans, and its NAS-grade drives put out the same amount of heat. When placing such a drive in a dock, it is common to orient the dock so that the drive is vertical; On this drive I saw a 5 degree Celsius drop when moving my drive from horizontal to vertical. I've attached an image proving it has 4096 byte sectors to refute what another reviewer wrote.
