The design is very simple, mostly made of plastic, the front panel is plain and thin. I don't have many complaints about the build, it serves its purpose perfectly and doesn't look terrible despite having the same specs and price as the Nitro line, but I feel like the Nitro line is a much better one Gaming design has . Elements to this and of course better build quality with metal base and so on. What I like they've fixed from their Nitro line is the stand adjustment features, they're pretty good now because they didn't have height adjustment before and it was pretty short, but with the Acer CB242Y it has a very ergonomic stand at -5 ยฐ Tilts up to 20ยฐ, rotates 360ยฐ and adjusts 5 inches in height so you can always find your perfect viewing position, and the quick-release design allows you to detach the monitor from the stand so it can be mounted on the VESA wall. What I really don't like is that it doesn't have a display port, only HDMI 1.4 and VGA inputs. Annoying that it comes with a VGA cable! Who uses a VGA cable in 2019? I'll never know why Acer doesn't offer an HDMI cable instead, doesn't everything have an HDMI output now! The monitor menu has a good menu so you can adjust the screen e.g. B. Blue Light, Black Gain, ACM, Sharpness, Auto Configuration, H.Position, etc. Now the screen quality, the screen is an IPS panel, it has a very good viewing angle for the price, and the colors, sharpness, and contrast are very rich and vivid , but this screen is sold as HDR Ready, I've tried playing HDR movies from Netflix and Revain Prime Video and there was no difference and the HDR icon didn't appear, so it's either an error in the listing or mine is faulty. Gaming is fine on this screen, of course 75Hz isn't the optimal refresh rate for gaming. Especially for first person shooters I still prefer my Acer Nitro XF252Q 240Hz but it is a $400 monitor but for those looking for an entry level gaming monitor this Acer will not disappoint as it has a very has quick response time. 1 ms, which helps with fast movements or fast transitions. Ions are rendered smoothly without annoying blurring or ghosting. I also recommend this screen if you have an AMD graphics card so that you can fully utilize its potential with Freesync in games. All in all a stunning entry-level gaming monitor with very thin bezels for a multi-screen setup and lots of good tech like Freesync. and a very rich IPS panel with a 1ms response time on an ergonomic stand, all for around $111, it's very hard to beat. Highly recommended.
