I have used other humidifiers in the past and was often faced with the question of how to get to and clean them. Then I run the humidifier every day throughout the winter, either in the fall or in the spring or even in the summer. I've found that during the times I don't use them every day they get slimy and the holes are never big enough to put my hand in and they're shaped in such a way that I can't fill at least a third of the interior space with one brush can reach clean. There are definitely no problems with that. I can put my hand in (although some men might have trouble with that) and my kitchen brush touches everything but the floor (it's not a reversible brush). This humidifier is also a visual delight. It has a smoke tank so you can see the water, but it's almost like looking into an aquarium when it's full. That's very reassuring. He is very quiet. I have another that makes a high pitched electronic tone when it's on and it stays on after I've turned it off for a while (unless I unplug it). It's literally silent. It has a 12 or 24 hour setting that controls the amount of vapor flow. I think 12 is more than enough. When the water runs out, it turns off. There is a night light, blue, that can be turned off. The night light will turn red if you run out of water while running, and it will turn off to let you know it needs to be refilled (and don't assume it's an engine problem unless , you realize that there is no more water). I first bought this for my living room so I didn't have to move my only humidifier all the time, but after cleaning and setting it up I quickly decided it would be the humidifier for my bedroom because of the volume and amount of steam. it shone. I have very severe allergies and my sinuses get very dry from forced heating in winter and even with a different humidifier I still had problems. Since I put this in my room they are great!
