I love this shop! fits filter

I love this thing. I installed this on a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with 94,000 miles. This took about an hour. Everything went well including MAS, temperature sensor and crankcase ventilation pipe. The only thing that gave me trouble was installing the clamp around the support bracket. The instructions, which are detailed and include photos for each step, advise you to install the new intake manifold to the throttle body, then slide the supplied clamp onto the support clamp and tighten. I found it easier to remove the support clamp from the alternator, disconnect the pipe from the throttle body, position the hose clamp around the bracket, then slide the pipe back onto the throttle body inlet and then reattach the support bracket to the alternator. Bolt. If this sounds confusing, it makes more sense when you see the directions and components. What I don't understand is how an air intake can make a truck sound like I just installed a new cat back exhaust. I'm not joking. Throttle response has improved, hopefully MPG is a slight increase (still on same tank so don't know yet) but for me. The noise alone when I step on the gas is worth the price. Everyone who has driven the truck since I installed this thing has had the same reaction as I have. And at least 3 friends get one for their trucks.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: Screws together in under an hour with basic hand tools. K&N air intake systems are one of the easiest ways to guarantee more performance.
Cons
  • There are errors
