Review on Pacific Image Electronics PrimeFilm PF1800U: High-Quality USB Film Scanner by Mark Jefferson

The scanner arrived quickly and in good condition. I was thrilled to connect it. I downloaded the software CD that came with it and connected the scanner to my computer. and tries to scan the slide. The message states that the scanner was not found. Finally I called Pacific Image's technical department and a very nice young man helped me. I learned from him that the company stopped producing this scanner in 2008. It is not compatible and does not work with Windows 8 or Windows 10. The software could not be uninstalled. I called Pacific Image back and the same young man told me they restored my computer before I installed the software. While I'm disappointed that it didn't work, it's not the seller's fault or Pacific Image Electronics' fault and I strongly recommend Pacific Image Electronics as a company to purchase another scanner. I will find time to do more research in the future when buying something for my computer.
