Review on StarTech Com USB VGA Adapter 1920X1200 by Tyrazz Abouzar

I work in a small office with each 10 users given time. We are all transitioning to dual monitors and have used this adapter fairly well for 3 different users so far. I recently ordered 3 more to upgrade anyone who needs it. Circumstances: I have 3 running and running at 1280x1024 on XP and W7 (Professional x64) with no problems. Pros: Installation is easy, driver works well with no issues. Setup is just as easy as with the integrated graphics card. You don't have to do anything special here. Small and easy to connect to any computer. Cons: The loading speed of Startech's driver is absolutely excruciatingly slow. If you are doing multiple installations, download a copy and save it to a flash drive. Consumes a lot of power from the USB port, although so far we haven't had any problems with it. Sometimes it hangs a little or stutters. I mainly use it for email, so it's not a big deal, but it's noticeable when you move windows around. Overall: I will keep buying these for our future rebuilds until I find something better. The price is better than most other adapters and the functionality is sufficient. I wouldn't use it for video or gaming, but it's more than enough for email and spreadsheets.
