WARNING: This device uses your internal video adapter! If you have an old computer with limited resources (e.g. video memory) this will not work properly. It would be nice to add this information to this product page. Instead, I had to find this on the manufacturer's support site. I have an old ITX motherboard with DVI and HDMI connectors. When I connect one monitor to each, only one monitor lights up, this is due to the limited amount of video memory on the motherboard's onboard video. Adapter

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Nothing

Just got the USB 2.0 version, works fine except when I LCD with a Flat screen Dell E2211Hc use as a monitor. 2nd monitor, the pointer is displayed only on "reboot". In other words, if you log out (as an administrator or as a different user) and then log back in, the pointer will no longer appear on the 2nd screen. As soon as you restart again, it will appear again and work properly. EDIT 6-2-17: When I switched to an older Samsung SyncMaster 171s flat panel LCD monitor for the second screen…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • For old ones

Just what I needed

I was trying to set up my granddaughter's computer with two screens. It was easy when she was using her laptop but I set her to a desktop and it didn't support 2 monitors. I bought a graphics card and then had to buy adapters. First the adapters were wrong, then after receiving the correct adapters. The map was bad. I didn't want to spend hundreds on a high-end graphics card when all I needed was a second monitor. Then I saw it. Took me about 15 minutes to install this thing and without even…

Pros
  • Even the old man understands
Cons
  • I don't have much animosity against it, everything is fine

Needs to be checked here - there is absolutely no driver on the StarTech support site and what I received says it is only compatible with Windows. Actually this is NOT true. If you look at the chipset, you will see that there are many Mac compatible products with the same chipset, so you only need one of these drivers. The SIIG site contains drivers for various versions of Mac OS X, including 10.11.1. I'm not sure if Revain will adopt the link so basically you have to go to the SIIG website and

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Surprisingly easy to computer cable adapter

Just plug in, add a driver and you're done. I have 2 of these on the sides of my main monitor. that's sooo cool. there were several problems along the way. First, the included driver cannot be used. you need d/l last. then just plug it in and you have more monitors. They are a bit soft/fuzzy. I'm not sure why, maybe the driver compresses the data and it looks a bit boring. or maybe the USB can't handle the full bandwidth. I also use DisplayFusion to control three monitors. I highly recommend it

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons
  • boring packaging

Some still work perfectly

I work in a small office with each 10 users given time. We are all transitioning to dual monitors and have used this adapter fairly well for 3 different users so far. I recently ordered 3 more to upgrade anyone who needs it. Circumstances: I have 3 running and running at 1280x1024 on XP and W7 (Professional x64) with no problems. Pros: Installation is easy, driver works well with no issues. Setup is just as easy as with the integrated graphics card. You don't have to do anything special here…

Pros
  • EXTERNAL VIDEO ADAPTER: This compact USB to VGA adapter lets you set up a display with two or more monitors without having to upgrade your existing system
Cons
  • Available in white only

Dell Inspiron DUO now connects to the projector

This product does exactly what i wanted. I'm writing this review so others trying to add external monitor capability to their netbook (especially the Dell Inspiron DUO) can be confident that this solution will work. First try, straight out of the box. My problem was that while my small folding screen DUO does everything I want from a travel computer, sometimes I have to carry a LARGE laptop with me when I want to hook up a projector. This is a big deal in terms of weight and effort. I've looked

Pros
  • USB POWER: This USB to VGA adapter is powered by the USB port on your Windows laptop and requires no additional cables or plugs
Cons
  • Requires an electrical outlet
