I've wanted to buy a Kotatsu for a long time but they tend to be a bit more expensive in the US plus you need a converter. Finally I was able to buy this one, I chose the foldable one because I live in a small space. This is such an economical way to keep warm in the winter! I use it with an outdoor futon sofa and another outdoor chair. I prefer to sit on the floor and this is my main desk in my apartment. I like that it is simple and modern. The top is a laminate which I noticed a few light scratches on after almost a year of use so I put a mat over it to protect it. When not in use, it fits under my chair. My cat likes to sleep under it too. Make sure you read the measurements, it's definitely not a family size kotatsu, it's more of a two person size :)
