Confused by the 1 star rating. It's perfect? no It has a slight aftertaste characteristic of most new Styrofoam products. Take some Febreeze and let the pillow air out for a few days. In any case, you need to let the styrofoam pieces recover within 48 hours, so put it near an open window for a while. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the smell because it's pretty disgusting if you don't ventilate well enough, but I don't think the smell alone deserves 1 star. Remember: The pillow comes rolled and vacuum sealed for easy transport. This will force the pieces of foam against one end of the pillow while leaving the other end flat and unfilled. Just give your pillow a good shake and fluff to distribute the foam and you're good to go. If the foam pieces move anywhere (e.g. when you change the pillowcase), just shake it again and fluff it up. This is such a simple fix that it's finicky to complain about. Also, the foam takes 48 hours to regain its shape, not 24 as another reviewer said. The instructions that came with the pillow were clear: *48* HOURS. The directions say you can use it simultaneously, but I decided against it because of the smell and didn't want to crush the foam and slowly change shape. I'm not a fan of faux fur (looks nice, a little more gray than purple, but you can't sleep in it in hot weather). After the 48 hours was up, I first covered the whole thing with my old cotton body pillowcase, faux fur cover, and anything else that made it incredibly thick and hard - too big for me to sleep comfortably. I swapped out the faux fur cover for a cotton cover and it's much more comfortable. I washed the case and when I put it in the dryer I forgot to change the temperature setting from medium to low (the instructions say to dry on low). This was a big mistake as the sleeve came out rumpled and tangled! It looks like grey-purple sheep's wool! Good thing I didn't want to use it anyway. Results see photo. This has not affected my star rating as it is the result of user error. I just want to help people avoid my mistake.] The pillow feels a bit "lumpy" but it's filled with little bits of foam! Of course it will feel lumpy. It still provides excellent support for my legs and arms at night. I am very happy with this purchase. The only way I think it could have been better is if they aired out the foam before stuffing the pillow to get rid of that chemical rubber smell.
