Save money and time stay away from this device

The physical NVR might be fine, but the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software is a disaster. I have different types of Amcrest cameras and they all work very well. Setting it up for them is easy. I use one for the webcam on my website. I use others to oversee property when I'm away. I thought it would be nice to have a centralized way to record and manage their feeds and it seemed reasonable that this would be easier with an NVR from the same company, Amcrest. Big mistake! After several weeks of testing, I found that the Surveillance Pro software does not work well with the built-in camera configuration and corrupts the data storage. One result of this was that the date and time in email notifications got mixed up, resulting in a 12-hour offset. Therefore, notifications sent by the NVR will be sent twelve hours later, and if you check your recent email, you will not see them at the top of the list sorted by date. You won't know you've been notified unless you go back, say, 12 hours. only one problem, there are many others. In short, just save your money and set up the system with iSpy or similar on a computer that you keep running all the time.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
