Review on Merkur Progress Adjustable Safety Razor with Extended Handle by Blanca Spahn

I really like this shaver. I've been using my merkur 34c for about 2 years and wanted to upgrade to something more aggressive. Some of the reviews were a little intimidating but if you have experience with a safety razor you should be fine. I started on setting 3 and it seems very close to a 34c shave but a bit more aggressive. I got it down to 4 and it's almost like a barber's shave that comes with a grit that used to come close meant going against the current and dealing with the irritation it caused. Everyone tells me to let go of the weight when the razor is doing its job, but I tend to put some pressure on it and the razor hasn't scolded me for it. I really like that I can feel the razor and adjust the pressure or angle on the fly.
