My rating: 1 star - not at all satisfied, 2 stars - ok, 3 stars - impressed (like), 4 stars - damn well (like love it), 5 stars - wow (essential in my life) As our baby was about 6 months old with his arms and legs wedged between the bed rails (and screaming in agony for help) when he started to roll over, we decided to get a crib protector . But what? After some reading and research we decided to buy these safari print breathable mesh styles. It arrived well packaged and well made. The safari print was adorable and washes well. There are zip ties throughout the chain link fence at times so you can tie it to the railing. There are strong velcro straps at the ends, making it easy to attach to the cot railing. But more importantly, did it solve our problem? no That probably made the situation worse. How so? After having her arms and/or legs wedged between the cot's rails (no net) a number of times, our little one has figured out how to pull her arms and/or legs out herself when they are only sticking out to the elbows. or knees. If she turned too quickly or was too worried when she saw us, her legs would go over the railing past her hips or an arm or two would go up to her shoulders and she would really get stuck between the railing. With the net guard, a simple wrist or leg going through the guard and over the railing became a confusing ordeal. She jerked and tugged, trying to free herself, but the mesh safety net definitely made it difficult, if not almost impossible, to free her small arms and legs. She was also very nervous and upset that she could no longer see us just by looking over the railing. So she cried and tugged at the safety net - it all looked like a dangerous mess. So while the product itself was well made and had a pretty good concept, the actual "benefit" was very small, almost dangerous. Our experience only confirms the American Pediatric Association's view on the use of crib guards: they're dangerous and not worth the trouble.
