excellent binoculars! The compass works without a battery! Just turn on some light through the window at the top of the electronic compass and it works great. Daylight or an electric lightbulb, whatever, will make it bright enough for the compass to see the compass. I don't understand how this is supposed to work without a battery. Batteries are only for displaying the compass at night. The optics are sharp and crystal clear with plenty of light. This is not real night vision! 50mm lenses attract light. I think they are great for ASTRONOMY. They also have a tripod mount. Excellent price. What I like best is that from 20 meters to infinity you don't have to focus. Everything is clear. You can focus closer if you want to see closer. For example, if a bullet hits a target at 10 yards you'll need to focus to see it, but anything from 20 yards to infinity doesn't need to be focused once you've set it up. This is good value for money. , and the case and eyecup are fine, I like the strap. You won't lose it with a yellow strap, or just don't use a strap if you don't like the color. The weight is not light, feels quite solid. 396 feet at 1000 yards is an excellent field of view. It's hard to win. Or just pay 4 times more and get something similar.
